Mark, I am reading Sr. Julia's book at your suggestion. It is gripping, as you suggested. I'm about half-way through. It is such a wonderful write for anyone discerning a religious vocation, perhaps any vocation. It's both spiritual and human, not that there is a real difference. I ordered a copy for our formation team to read and hopefully make available to 'seekers.' I entered in 1958 and am much different today in my spirituality. As Ken Wilber says: "Transcend and include." As Julia speaks about her experience of her Senior Sisters, I nod, 'yes,' that is the way it was. I, however, in 1959, lovingly went along with the life. Much has changed with us Christian Brothers, but we still need to continue to change as a group. We need to share more and learn from each other. I'm convinced that Cynthia's teaching on 3-centered awareness would help us transform collectively. "As our being increases, our receptivity to deeper meaning increases." In this Jubilee Year of Hope in the Roman Catholic Church with a new Pope and a Year of Spirituality in our Religious Community with a new Superior General, we attempt to transcend and include. Pray for us! Thanks!
