I love Bang on a Can too!! The first gallery piece I heard this year—in the Vincent Valdez installation—was “How to Win an Election”—unbelievably wonderful voice and bass clarinet! With words taken from Cicero’s advice to his brother who was running for Consul. Soooo resonated with our apocalyptic here and now!
I made a whole song playlist for the end of the world because that was the mood I had earlier this year. If today was the last day to be alive, people would all change their behavior based on their true selves. Some would love and some would kill. I added songs from a variety of popular artists like Nine Inch Nails and the Beatles and David Bowie. They all had completely different takes on apocalypse.
